Feeling your emotions and giving yourself full permission to express yourself will allow you to cultivate self-love & acceptance.
When you suppress emotions that are painful, you suppress the emotions you most yearn for.. Giving yourself full permission to feel and express yourself is the greatest act of self-love. We are here to experience all that it means to be human - all human emotion - what we perceive to be good/bad is an illusion. Misconception: If I feel this I won't survive - I won't be able to get back out!
Triggers Are The Stepping Stones to Self-Love
Triggers are opportunities to heal and shine your light of awareness
Triggers are opportunities to heal - they show you what's being held inside - your deepest wounds. Often we think emotional triggers are because of something outside of us - the trigger is revealing what's unhealed deep inside. When you shine your light of awareness, you take your power back and you learn and grow from the experience. Triggers are the stepping stones, leading you home to love and full acceptance of what is, what you're feeling and who you truly are.
Creating Safety Is The Key
In order to feel what's being held within and to hold space for yourself in emotional triggers, you MUST feel safe.
In order to feel, you must feel safe When trauma, painful experiences /memories, stress and emotions suppressed/repressed, it is held in the body - the mind may forget but the body remembers everything This creates the feeling and belief of "I am not safe" - you don't feel safe in your body or in the world. When we don't feel safe we protect - we automatically/subconsciously create coping/defence/protective mechanisms (perfectionism/people pleasing/numbing and many more...
