September Reflections

Closing the month of September, end-of-month reflections are here!

Such a powerful practice to take the time to reflect on your month but it's often something that is either an afterthought or not a thought at all and many go by months and months and maybe even years without reflecting

Leading you to live in autopilot, as if you were living out the same day, the same experiences again and again, live becomes stagnant and mundane.

And it's often forgotten that you can actually SPICE UP your life anytime, and self-reflection is a powerful practice to help you do that, to move out stagnant energy and choose something new for yourself.

Afterall we're here to LIVE right??? So why are so many just getting through the day, hoping that one day something will magically change...

You have the power to make that change and spice up your life whenever you feel like it.

Some other benefits of self-reflection, reflecting just how powerful this practice is...

  1. Increased Self-Awareness: Self-reflection helps you gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, emotions, values, and behaviors. This self-awareness can lead to better decision-making and a clearer sense of purpose.

  2. Improved Problem-Solving Skills: By taking time to reflect on your experiences, you can analyze situations more effectively and find solutions to challenges or problems you may be facing.

  3. Enhanced Emotional Intelligence: Self-reflection allows you to recognize and regulate your emotions more effectively. This can lead to better interpersonal relationships and more effective communication with others.

  4. Clarity of Goals and Objectives: Reflecting on your aspirations and values helps you clarify what is truly important to you. This, in turn, allows you to set more meaningful and achievable goals.

  5. Increased Resilience: Through self-reflection, you can gain insights into your strengths and areas for improvement. This knowledge can build resilience, enabling you to bounce back from setbacks and adversity.

  6. Improved Communication Skills: Understanding your own thoughts and emotions can enhance your ability to express yourself clearly and empathetically, which is crucial for effective communication.

  7. Enhanced Learning and Growth: Self-reflection helps consolidate learning from experiences. It allows you to extract valuable lessons and apply them to future situations.

  8. Reduced Stress and Anxiety: By reflecting on your experiences, you can gain perspective and develop coping strategies for managing stress and anxiety. This can lead to a greater sense of calm and well-being.

  9. Increased Empathy and Compassion: Through self-reflection, you become more attuned to your own experiences, which can foster empathy for others. This can lead to more compassionate and understanding relationships.

  10. Improved Decision-Making: Self-reflection allows you to consider your values, goals, and priorities, which can lead to more informed and aligned decision-making.

  11. Greater Accountability: Reflecting on your actions and behaviors encourages personal accountability. It allows you to take responsibility for your choices and make positive changes where needed.

  12. Enhanced Creativity and Innovation: Taking time for self-reflection can lead to increased creativity and innovation. It allows for the exploration of new ideas and perspectives.

  13. Increased Satisfaction and Fulfillment: Understanding yourself better and aligning your actions with your values can lead to a greater sense of satisfaction and fulfillment in life.

Pretty amazing right???!

At the end of each month, I send our community our End-Of-Month Reflections email to support you in taking action, carving out the time and giving you some ideas and guidance on how to get started. (Want to get our community emails and updates sent directly to your email??? Subscribe here)

What I notice comes up a lot for people is a lack of clarity of where to start and what to reflect on

That's where I come in, here are some journal prompts to get you started and after that allow your creativity to flow and see what comes through...

September Journal Prompts:

  • 3 things I am celebrating this month are...

  • My intention for this month was...

  • Something that was really challenging for me this month was...

  • Something I am working towards that I am really excited about is...

  • Something I really need to voice/express and get off my chest is...

  • Next month I am committed to... (examples: working towards specific goal, feeling a certain way, shifting a certain pattern, being kinder to myself, taking time for myself...)

  • 3 things I am gratefeul for are...

Allow at lease 15-20 minutes for your self-reflection practice if you can, more if you desire, less if that's all you can create this month, (a few minutes is better than NO minutes!)

Commit to making self-reflection a priority and you will see incredible shifts in your life and in how you feel in your daily life.

What are you committing to for the next month?

“Some people think they are in community, but they are only in proximity. True community requires commitment and openness. It is a willingness to extend yourself to encounter and know the other.” –David Spangler

Here's a little affirmation to support you

"I deserve to take time for myself, I acknowledge the power of self-reflection and choose to commit to this practice"
